A serious crash on the eastbound 401 near Port Union Road has sent three people to hospital, Tuesday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police told 680News around 1:30 p.m., the driver of a vehicle lost control, hit a cement barrier and ended up in the path of a truck which was unable to stop in time.
An infant and a teenager suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital in Ajax. From there, both were transferred to Sick Kids Hospital.
The driver – a woman believed to be the children’s mother – was treated for minor injuries and released.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
The transfer lanes were closed in the area for the investigation.
