This week marks 20 years since our sports station The FAN 590 – now Sportsnet 590 The FAN – first took to the airwaves.

Originally 1430 on the AM dial, it was a music station before switching to an all-sports format. It made the switch to 590 in 1995.

Sportsnet 590 The FAN is the home of Bob McCown and the Toronto Blue Jays, and aired possibly the most well known clip in Toronto’s sports radio’s history – Tom Cheek announcing Joe Carter’s 1993 World Series winning home run.

Fans can tune in 24 hours a day to get entertaining and informative results, as well as sports discussion.
