TORONTO, Ont. – As the warmth of summer begins to fade and students prepare to return to school, Labour Day is the last chance for many people in the Greater Toronto Area to get away or spend some leisure time.

As Labour Day is an official statutory holiday, closures are in effect around the city, so hopefully you planned ahead.

If you’re planning to party or enjoy a drink by the pool, hopefully you stocked up, because both the Beer Store and LCBO are closed Monday.

Most grocery stores in the city are also closed, along with post offices and all banks and government offices.

If you’re looking to get around the city, the TTC is operating on a holiday schedule while GO Transit is operating on a Sunday schedule.

Several malls and tourist-designated locations are open for some last-minute school shopping, including the Eaton Centre, Square One, Vaughn Mills and Pacific Mall..

Most stores in the Bloor-Yorkville area are also open for browsing.
