VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If the new hikes in recreational programs and parking at Vancouver parks may not be sitting well with you, you’re not alone.
Some people are having a bad reaction to the latest increase in fees.
“Any time taxes, fees or levies are raised, it definitely puts more of a burden on families, people who use these services,” says Jordan Bateman with the BC Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
“We pay enough and certainly enough money is coming out of pockets going into city hall and racking up rates whether its for parking or admission,” he adds. “It’s never going to be a welcome thing in light of the fact that we just feel strapped for cash.”
Bateman says most people are okay with paying more as long as the government limits waste.
