An intersection in Vaughan was shut down for several hours after a crash brought down Hydro wires in the area Saturday morning.
Several vehicles, including a garbage truck, pick-up truck, and SUV were involved in the crash, which happened near Highway 7 and Highway 427 around 7:30 a.m.
York police said it appears the truck hit a pole, bringing down live wires and ending up stuck in a ditch. The driver of the truck was removed and taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
Once Hydro crews were able to isolate the power lines, a heavy-duty tow truck pulled the garbage truck out of the ditch.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident and there has been no word on whether police will be pressing any charges.
