MISSISSAUGA – Peel police say a suspicious package that caused the bomb squad to be called in, contained perfume.
The package was located in front of a house on Loyalist Drive at Unity Drive near Winston Churchill Boulevard.
Police say the explosive disposal unit discovered that it was a bottle of perfume.
“TNT” perfume by Madame Shi comes in a bottle shaped like sticks of dynamite.
Several homes in the area were evacuated while police investigated.
Constable Erin Cooper told 680News police will be investigating a case of public mischief.
“(the package) was placed there because it looked nefarious. It was not accidentally dropped out of a backpack. It was definitely put there to do exactly what it did, which was cause concern,” she explained.
