A man has been arrested after it’s alleged a suspect impersonated a police officer and sexually assaulted a woman near Erindale Park.

It’s reported that, on Monday at approximately 9:30 p.m., a female and her male companion were sitting in a parked vehicle at Erindale Park.

It was then that a man allegedly approached the vehicle and identified himself as a police officer. He was not dressed as an officer nor did he have any identification.

He ordered the male companion out of the vehicle and then entered the vehicle himself, proceeded to sexually assault the female.

Fredy Fonseca Castandeda was arrested Wednesday and is charged with sexual assault and personating a peace officer.

He will appear in court on October 1.

The suspect is a resident of Mississauga, and is described as male, white, 27 years-old, 5’8″ tall with a muscular build.  He has short dark hair, with a goatee.

Police are concerned he may have assaulted previous victims in the past and are asking anyone with information to contact police or CrimeStoppers.

“We are concerned that there may be possible other victims that haven’t come forward yet,” said Constable Erin Cooper.
