The hazy days of summer are back with the heat and humidity, and now, the smog is also returning.

A smog advisory has been issued for much of southern and central Ontario, including the GTA as well as parts of cottage country like Midland and Orillia.

It’s in effect for:

  • York – Durham
  • Barrie – Orillia – Midland
  • Belleville – Quinte – Northumberland
  • City of Hamilton
  • Dufferin – Innisfil
  • Dunnville – Caledonia – Haldimand
  • Elgin
  • Grey – Bruce
  • Huron – Perth
  • Kingston – Prince Edward
  • London – Middlesex
  • Niagara
  • Oxford – Brant
  • Peterborough – Kawartha Lakes
  • Sarnia – Lambton
  • Simcoe – Delhi – Norfolk
  • Waterloo – Wellington
  • Windsor – Essex – Chatham – Kent


Officials said during smog days some people may experience eye irritation or shortness of breath.
