TORONTO, Ont. – Security is being stepped up at the CNE, after it was reported a young boy was sexually assaulted.

Officials say the 15-year-old boy went to the washroom in the Direct Energy Centre when a man started talking to him, before eventually proceeding to sexually assault him.

CNE spokesperson Annette Borger told CityNews they’re taking the report very seriously.

“There is a visible police presence, as well as an unseen police presence and security. We also have cameras in all the buildings and throughout the grounds,” Borger said.

“In light of this (allegation), we are working with Toronto police and our own security to increase patrols,” she added.

The suspect in the alleged sexual assault is described as Chinese, between 50-to-60-years-old and approximately 5’5″ tall.

He has a thin build and thinning, short-black hair.

He was wearing a white, unbuttoned collared dress shirt with a white tank-top underneath.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
