TORONTO, Ont. – Police are asking witnesses to come forward following a four-vehicle collision in the Steeles Avenue East and Markham Road area, Wednesday morning.

The incident happened just before 8 a.m.

Police say a 46-year-old man was driving a 2005 Acura TL northbound on Tapscott Road, turning westbound onto Steeles. At the same time, a 56-year-old man was driving a 2008 Ford F350 pick-up truck with a trailer eastbound on Steeles, striking the Acura.

Two other vehicles were involved. Ambulance officials told 680News one of the cars was t-boned.   

One man suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital via air ambulance.

Steeles was closed in both directions at Tapscott Road, east of Markham Road, for the investigation.
