Family and friends of a 24-year old Toronto woman, who is in a coma in Croatia, are trying to raise enough money to bring her home.

Anna Leibenko, a former Toronto Argonauts cheerleader, was travelling with some friends in Europe this month when she slipped off a catamaran, hit her head and fell into the water.

She is in hospital with internal brain bleeding and head and facial fractures.

According to a website set up to raise funds for Leibenko’s return, she did not have travel insurance and her family and friends cannot afford the cost of her treatment and an air ambulance from Croatia to Toronto, which is estimated to be almost $100-thousand.
