Many Canadians not having proper breakfast, Heart and Stroke Foundation says

As children and teens gear up for a new school year, a new survey for the Heart and Stroke Foundation found many are not starting their day with a proper breakfast.

While parents know what constitutes a healthy breakfast, a little more than 50 per cent said they do not have enough time in the morning to prepare one.

Around 40 per cent of parents said their children are simply not hungry before school, and nearly 30 per cent said their children reject healthy options.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation said families need to make a healthy breakfast a priority.
