TORONTO, Ont. – Police said no charges are expected to be laid against a father involved in a tragic accident over the weekend at the Ontario Science Centre.
An eight-year-old boy died, and his mother remains in hospital, after they were hit by a car reversing in centre’s parking lot, located on Don Mills Road, at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The car is being examined for mechanical failure.
The Toronto Sun reported that the father is distraught.
South of the border, the U.S. National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration has announced back-up cameras will be mandatory on all new vehicles by 2014.
