September is around the corner and many parents are counting the days until summer vacation is done and little Jackson or Ella can get back to class.
But others are starting to become a little blue, especially if they are about to send a four year old off to start their school career.
The first day of kindergarten is a huge milestone for parents, as well as for kids, psychologist Deanna Pledge told NBC News.
She pointed out that when a child starts school, they are embarking on a life of his or her own and the parent is less central.
Pledge has suggested volunteering in order to beat the quasi empty nest blues, to take up yoga or take a class, and to remember, it’s okay to cry.
