Mississippi is now the fattest American state.
New data from the United States Center for Disease Control has shown that the state of Mississippi has the highest obesity rate, with 35 per cent of its population needing to lose 30 pounds or more.
The data found that the southern United States has the highest percentage of people who are “too heavy”, followed by the Midwestern states.
Colorado has the lowest obesity rate.
The study found that no state has an obesity rate of less than 20 per cent.
