The latest checkup on the global smartphone market shows the BlackBerry continues to lose ground, but still has a chance.
The BlackBerry owns 4.8 per cent of the market share, down from 11.5 per cent a year ago, the International Data Corporation has reported.
The Android’s market share has skyrocketed more than 20 per cent, now claiming 68.1 per-cent of the market share. Samsung accounts for 44 per cent of all Android phones shipped in the quarter.
Android is not only taking away from the BlackBerry, but the iPhone too, which saw its share drop two per cent to 16.9 per cent.
The IDC said it’s a definite two-horse race, but there’s still room for growth and competition.
