ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista has been cleared to resume swinging a bat on Monday.
Blue Jays manager John Farrell, after Wednesday night’s 3-2 loss at Tampa Bay, said an MRI exam done earlier in the day on Bautista’s injured left wrist showed improvement, but there is still some inflammation in one small spot.
Farrell said Bautista will take dry swings and hit off a tee on Monday.
Bautista has been out since July 17. The right fielder has 27 homers this season after belting 43 last season and a majors-leading 54 in 2010.
