TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have located the vehicle and driver involved in connection with Wednesday’s incident on the Gardiner Expressway that left one woman dead.

The woman was struck by a vehicle at around 8 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at Parkside Drive. She died at the scene.

Traffic Services told 680News police are questioning the driver who failed to remain on scene after allegedly hitting the woman, who landed on the Gardiner from an overpass.  

Police said at this point. the driver is not under arrest and has not been charged, but that could change. However, it is unlikely he will be charged in the woman’s death.

The incident closed a stretch of the Gardiner for around four hours.
