A storm passed across southern Ontario Tuesday afternoon, packing thunderstorms rain and high winds.
Many areas of the city experienced flooding, including Yonge-Dundas Square where the evening film showing was cancelled as a preventative measure after power was cut to the stage.
The storm ripped right across the GTA, catching many people by surprise.
Thousands were left without power and the storm caused delays at both Pearson Airport and Billy Bishop Airport.
The City of Vaughan cancelled its’ Concert in the Park with The Toronto All-Star Big Band due to the adverse weather conditions.
Around noon, Environment Canada issued a thunderstorm watch for Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, Georgina, Northern York region, Uxbridge, Beaverton and Northern Durham region.
The watch ended shortly before 4:30 p.m.
The Toronto Region Conservation Authority issued a warning for higher water levels in all rivers and stream in the GTA.
