Man arrested after early morning police chase in Etobicoke

TORONTO, Ont. – One man is in custody and another is recovering in hospital after an early-morning police chase in Etobicoke.

Police say they were pursuing a stolen minivan when it crashed on the Highway 427 southbound ramp at Dundas Street.

The driver of the stolen vehicle drove into a curb before slamming into a taxi, according to police.

The taxi driver wasn’t injured but his passenger, a member of the Canadian armed forced, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the minivan tried to run away from the crash but was quickly taken into custody.

There has been no word on what charges the driver will face.
