The town of Oakville is advising people of all ages to play safe.
In a new awareness campaign entitled ‘Let’s Play Safe,’ the emphasis is placed on local sports groups and their coaches in order to avoid concussions.
The town will host public information sessions with sports organizations to educate them about concussion symptoms and provide prevention tips.
According to a recent report from the Canadian Public Health Agency, more than 40 per cent of brain injuries in children and youth happen during sports and recreation activities.
