MUSKOKA LAKES, Ont. – Residents of about 50 homes in a community in central Ontario’s cottage country who were evacuated due to a brush fire have the all-clear to return home.
Provincial police said the Muskoka Lakes and Bracebridge Fire Department have deemed the area of Milford Bay safe.
Police said firefighters will remain on duty through the night to make sure there are no flareups.
Muskoka Lakes Mayor Alice Murphy said there’s no information yet on the cause of the brush fire which flared up early Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the fire burned about six hectares before firefighters assisted by water bombers were able to bring it under control.
