All public works employees with the Region of Peel will be back on the job this week following a 12-week long strike.

Regional council ratified the deal on Monday, and the members of CUPE local 966 voted to accept the deal last Friday.

The 280 workers will return to their jobs on Thursday.

They’re responsible for drinking water inspections, fire hydrant and water-main service.

They also handle community recycling centres and water pump and treatment stations.
