Mariah Carey has reportedly signed on as the newest “American Idol” judge, TMZ has reported.

The singer will apparently be making $12-million in her first year with the show. That’s the same deal former judge Jennifer Lopez made in her fist year.

Lopez and Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler both recently announced they would be leaving Idol.

There is no word yet if the show’s only original judge Randy Jackson will return.  

They still have to replace Tyler and rumours are former Idol runner-up Adam Lambert maybe getting the job.
