TORONTO, Ont. – Four more people have been injured by gunfire in Toronto, with police investigating three separate shootings.
The shootings, which happened between Friday night and Saturday morning, occurred near Jane Street and Finch Avenue, Black Creek Drive and Weston Road and Kennedy and Ellesmere Road.
One of the four victims is listed in critical condition, after being shot in the head on Driftwood Court, near Jane Street and Finch Avenue, around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Approximately two hours later, two men were found shot in a car near the intersection of Jane and Bloor Streets.
It’s reported they had been shot at Black Creek Drive and Weston Road before driving to the area of Jane and Bloor.
The men, one 19 and one 21, both were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The suspect in that shooting is described as a dark-skinned black man in his late teens. He is approximately 5’9″ with a shaved head and was wearing a white t-shirt.
680News business reporter Richard Southern happened to be in the area shortly after the victims were located.
“We understand that there are two victims, preliminary reports from the scene here indicate they have been transported from a vehicle, the condition we don’t know,” Southern said.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man is being treated for gunshot wounds after a shooting on Kennedy Road near Ellesmere Road.
He is expected to recover and there has been no word on a suspect or motive.
The evening and overnight violence comes after Monday’s horrific spray of gunfire on Danzig Street, leaving two dead and more than twenty shot.
Since then, there have been several incidences of violence, with Clayton Wright, 42, being shot and killed in the parking lot next to the popular soccer field, Eglinton Flats.
His brother Winston Wright, 38, surrendered to police on Thursday and was charged with first-degree murder.
Another man, Daniel Davis, 27, was gunned down on Thursday morning at a Lawrence Heights schoolyard.
