TORONTO, Ont. – A users’ group has delivered its first ever report card to the TTC, rating it in five categories ranging from whether fees are fair and affordable, to if fast and reliable transit is available to all parts of the city.

The group simply calls themselves “TTC riders” and said the report is generated from talking to commuters as well as factual information.

Spokeperson Franz Hartman said their findings are a mixed bag.

“The good news is that transit expansion is back on track. However, the bad news is that fares keep going up while service levels keep going down,” Hartman said. “If the TTC was a student, this report card would be a wake-up call with a very clear message: You must do better.”

The report gave the TTC a grade they called “derailed” on having fair and affordable fees.

There is a lot of feedback on Twitter, with people wanting more frequent service, cleaner trains and buses, as well as a new electronic token system.

Last week, the TTC started rating itself on a daily basis, posting just how reliable the service was for the previous day on its website.
