The severe thunderstorm watch has ended for the GTA and much of southern Ontario.
The watch was issued by Environment Canada around 1 p.m., Tuesday.
Severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for:
- Dufferin – Innisfil
- Belleville – Quinte – Northumberland
- Kingston – Prince Edward
- Peterborough – Kawartha Lakes
- Stirling – Tweed – Madoc
- Ottawa north – Kanata – Orleans
- Gatineau
- Prescott and Russell
Some of these storms will likely become severe with large hail, damaging winds, torrential downpours, and frequent cloud to ground lightning. There will also be the risk for an isolated tornado over Eastern Ontario
