After what was likely a warm and muggy morning, power has been restored to thousands of residents in the Stouffville area.

An estimated 3,800 customers were without power for several hours early Saturday, which meant no air conditioning to help beat the heat.

Hydro One told 680News the outage was because of equipment problems in the downtown area.

A repair crew was dispatched to the scene and power was restored around 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
