TORONTO, Ont. – A 21-year-old man is facing several charges including forcible confinement after a woman was allegedly attacked at the University of Toronto.
On Thursday, 19-year-old woman went to what she was told was an information session at Emmanuel College, on the University of Toronto campus.
However, when she arrived, no one was there.
A short time later a man, believed to be a student, allegedly offered to help her find the right location but said he needed to fix something in the washroom first.
She entered the washroom and it was reported that he locked the door and grabbed her and forced her to the ground. The woman was able to escape and contact campus police.
Muhammad Umair Jafar of Brampton faces several charges including forcible confinement, sexual assault, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Police believe there may be more victims.
