TORONTO, Ont. – Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish a blaze at a downtown restaurant.
The fire started in a kitchen at Paramount, a downtown restaurant on Yonge Street across from Toronto Eaton Centre, around 3:30 p.m., Thursday.
The Toronto Star reports that the fire spread from the ground floor kitchen to the second flood but crews were able to contain the blaze.
Yonge Street was closed for about an hour between Shuter and Dundas streets.
Fire officials estimate the damage at $5,000.
