A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Richmond Hill.

York regional police told 680News the collision involved a taxi cab.

It happened shortly after 6 a.m., Sunday, at the intersection of Leslie Street and Highway 7.

Officials say the motorcycle driver was without vital signs when emergency units arrived. He was revived on scene and transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The intersection of Highway 7 and Leslie street was closed for almost eight hours while police conducted their investigation.
