TORONTO, Ont. – On your mark, get set, go! The Pride and Remembrance Run comes to Toronto Saturday, with runners hitting the streets at 10 a.m.

The 5-km run or 3-km walk begins at Wellesely and Church Streets, with more than 1,000 runners expected to run across Wellesely to Queen’s Park.

From here runners will loop around Queen’s Park twice before heading back to the corner of Wellesely and Church.

The run promotes community spirit and helps to raise money for charitable organizations in Toronto’s LGBTQ community.

This year’s run supports the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line and HALCO (HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario).

To incorporate the runners, Wellesley Street from Jarvis Street, to and including Queen’s Park Circle, will be closed on Saturday, June 30 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
