TORONTO, Ont. – The bars and streets in Little Italy were packed as Italian fans celebrated a gutsy 2-1 victory over Germany, pushing the Italian team to the finals of Euro 2012.

The Italians were comfortably ahead 2-0, before a late rally by Germany made things more interesting.

The Italian team was able to hold on for the win, however, beating a German team that was widely considered one of the best in the tournament.

Cheering fans flooded College Street after the victory to celebrate.

A game of soccer even broke out in the middle of the street.

Before the game began fans at a Little Italy bar were confident that Italy could take the win, despite the fact that the Germans have waltzed through this tournament with ease, winning the strongest group without dropping a point before easily disposing of Greece in the quarter-finals.

Italy opened the tournament with a tie against Spain — the very team they will now face Sunday.

The final is on Sunday at 2:45 p.m. ET.
