TORONTO, Ont. – The city’s street vendors may be allowed to offer customers healthier options starting in July.
The city’s licensing committee will be considering the proposal next week. That proposal will go to council for a vote next month.
Healthier food choices would include pre-packaged salads and nuts, whole fruit and vegetables, bagels and pre-cooked veggie burgers.
A staff report on expanding food cart menus will be tabled this fall.
