AMC has sold its six Canadian theatres – including locations at Yonge and Dundas, in Oakville and Mississauga – to Cineplex.
According to CityNews, the company said it wants to focus solely on its U.S. business interests.
AMC theatres in Whitby and Oshawa were recently sold to Empire, and the new owners said they will keep theatres open while no jobs are expected to be lost.
