TORONTO, Ont. – Charges are have been laid after a three-month-old puppy was left in a car for about an hour.
Police officers rescued the animal in a parking lot in the Midland Avenue and Finch Avenue East area around 2 p.m., Friday.
The puppy, believed to be a lab mix, was taken to a vet to be checked out.
No word on the owner’s name or which charges were laid at this time.
This is the third incident of an animal being left in a car in the last two weeks.
Last week, a dog died after being left in a parked car at Vaughan Mills. The owners, who were in town from Sudbury, were charged with animal cruelty. A 70-year-old woman was also charged under a city bylaw and fined for leaving her dog in a hot car at Sherway Gardens.
