A Montreal teacher is suspended – with pay – for showing grade 10 students the infamous video, which shows a killing allegedly committed by Luka Rocco Magnotta.

It happened on June 4 at a school in the city’s west end.

Staff said they quickly informed the students a team of psychologists was available to deal with any problems that might have resulted from watching the video.

The teacher apparently apologized to the school by email and is scheduled to appear before a labour-relations board Wednesday.

A decision is expected by the end of the school year.

Magnotta is awaiting extradition from Germany and faces murder charges in the slaying of chinese exchange student Jun Lin.

A memorial is planned in Montreal for Lin tomorrow night.
