TORONTO, Ont. – Honda Canada has issued a recall on the 2012 Civic due to a faulty driveshaft.
The recall will effect approximately 12,500 vehicles in Canada.
Honda says they will inspect and replace, if necessary, the driver’s side driveshaft, which may not have been properly pressed into the CV joint during assembly.
Honda warns that if the two components separate the engine will no longer propel the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Customers will receive notification by mail if their vehicle is included in the recall.
Owners will also be able to determine if their vehicle requires repair by going on-line to www.honda.ca/recalls or by calling Honda Canada’s Customer Relations Department at (888) 9HONDA9.
