TORONTO, Ont. – A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a Toronto police bicycle officer was knocked down and injured in an alleged hit-and-run Saturday night.
The man is facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
The on-duty officer suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover completely, after being hit from behind by the suspect’s vehicle on Finch Avenue near Highway 400.
The suspect then fled the scene in his car, but was located soon after and arrested.
Police had initially been searching for a black Acura.
