Lululemon Athletica has topped the list of Canada’s fastest-growing brands for 2012.
The yoga wear company moved up to the seventh spot last year, and is now worth more than $3-billion.
Alfred DuPuy, managing director of Interbrand Canada, told 680News Lululemon has diversified beyond yoga apparel into a lifestyle brand which is resonating with a much broader consumer audience.
“They have people who just naturally wake up and go deliver the brand right almost every single day,” he said. “How many retail stores do you walk by [at the end of the day] that are closed and still full of people?”
Also at the top of the Canadian list were TD Bank, RBC and despite its issues, Research In Motion. Rounding out the top 5 was Scotiabank.
