Janet Jackson is telling the truth.

The singer and actress is acting as executive producer and conducting some on-camera interviews in “Truth”, a documentary on the lives of transgender people around the globe, announced New York-based Brainchild Films on Monday.

The filming begins this summer.

The documentary outlines the struggles in the lives of transgender people.

In a statement, Jackson, 46, wrote that she decided to work on the project because she wants to help stop discrimination against the transgender community.

Jackson, the little sister of the late Michael, has starred in several films and has won five Grammy Awards.

Director Robert Jason said the transgender people interviewed will come from various countries from North America, Europe, Australia and Latin America.

Jason has previously directed a documentary on four transgender New Yorkers for the Style Network.
