Kathie Lee Gifford had an awkward moment while interviewing actor Martin Short on the Today Show, Wednesday.
Gifford asked Short about his wife Nancy, who died of cancer two years ago.
Obviously unaware of her death, Gifford used the present tense when asking about their marriage and how many years they have been together, while saying they have one of the best marriages in Hollywood and commenting on their strong love for one another.
Short, on the show to promote Madagascar 3, did not correct her, but did say they have been married 36 years and that they are still very much in love.
Gifford later apologized on Twitter, saying Short handled the situation with enormous grace and kindness.
