TORONTO, Ont. – Around 50 protesting independent tow truck drivers circled Queen’s Park, Wednesday, in protest of how they say their industry is being treated.
Starting at 8 a.m., drivers travelled from a number of different areas of the GTA, including Steeles and Woodbine avenues, and down the Don Valley Parkway to Queen’s Park.
They arrived at the Ontario legislature at around 10 a.m.
Protest spokesperson and local tow truck operation Ron Black told 680News they just want fair payment from insurance companies who accuse them of price fixing.
Black said tow drivers risk their lives on a daily basis and don’t get any respect.
