York Regional Police have identified a 28-year-old Markham man who was found behind a library at Highway 7 and Markham Road early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the Markham Village Library just before 3 a.m. for a weapons-related incident, where they located the victim in the parking lot behind the building, suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing.
He died a short time later in hospital, and has since been identified as Allen Constance, from Markham.
A 17-year-old boy, also from Markham, has been charged with first-degree murder. He is due to appear before the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Newmarket on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, an autopsy has also been scheduled for Monday to determine the exact cause of death.
York Police told 680News the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crime is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
