Can Justin Trudeau save the federal Liberal Party?

Political buzz is building over whether MP Justin Trudeau should be the next leader of the Liberal Party.

Well if you believe him, the answer is no.

He told Maclean’s magazine in this week’s cover story that he won’t be throwing his name into the hat, mainly because he has seen (through his father’s time — former prime minister Pierre Trudeau), what it can do to a family and he would like to avoid that.

But the buzz is certainly building as the Liberal Party tries to figure out how to resurrect itself.

And as plans are put into place for a leadership convention sometime next year, the thinking among some Liberals is that Justin Trudeau is the only one who has the kind of charismatic personality to capture the attention of a nation — for better or for worse.

And of course, the thinking among others is that he is still way too young and way too inexperienced to lead.
