A series of police raids across the GTA has resulted in six arrests connected to an armed robbery investigation.
The raids were conducted Thursday in Toronto, York and Durham Regions.
The robbery took place last November in Scarborough. Thieves made off with $1-million from an armoured car as well as the guard’s guns.
Police say tips from the public helped them in their arrests.
“The six individuals face conspiracy to commit robbery charges, robbery, wearing a disguise and also firearm related charges. During the search warrant one of the guard’s guns that was taken in the robbery, a glock 17, was recovered during one of the searches,” said Staff Insp. Mike Earl.
Police say they are still looking for two other suspects,.
During the raids, seven other people were arrested and charged with unrelated offences.
