Wearing your seat belt can really reduce the risk of serious injuries during a crash, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
Police officials say a fatality overnight could have possibly been prevented had the driver been wearing his seatbelt.
The man was killed after being thrown from his car following a rollover on Hwy. 403 at Wilson Street in Hamilton.
As another example, a man and woman are both in serious condition in hospital after another accident, which took place on the northbound Hwy. 427 at Rathburn Road, where neither had a seatbelt on.
In an OPP Blitz last week, officers laid 5,500 seatbelt charges.
