GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Phoenix Coyotes ownership woes have apparently come to an end.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has announced that the league has struck a tentative agreement with a new ownership group led by Greg Jamison.
Jamison is the former chief executive officer of the San Jose Sharks and is a minority owner of the California-based franchise.
Jamison will sell his shares in the Sharks as part of the deal.
The NHL has owned the Coyotes since 2009.
The sale requires the approval of Glendale city council.
