A stubborn, smoky fire has been extinguished at the Atlantic Packaging Plant on Progress Avenue in the Midland and Ellesmere area.
It took 70 firefighters to put out the “deep-seated” fire in bundles of cardboard piled up in the warehouse for recycling.
Thick grey smoke hung over the building and could be seen by rush hour drivers on Highway 401.
Officials say no one has been hurt.
Toronto fire officials told 680News it could take hours to extinguish all of the smoldering material.
