A man has been arrested following a Saturday evening shooting in an Ajax retail plaza, according to Durham police.
Police allege the incident began when two men were involved in a dispute on a nearby residential street. One of the men, 22, had a gun and fired a shot at the other man. While the bullet missed, the altercation continued at a nearby parking lot.
More shots were fired in the parking lot, near Bayly Street and Harwood Avenue, where the second man, 40, suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
At some point during the altercation, which began around 6:30 p.m., the 22-year-old man with the gun suffered a leg injury.
Both men were taken to hospital and neither has life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police have not released the identities of the men and there is no word on what charges will be pressed.
